Registered Nurse (Health Unit Coordinator) - Monday thru Friday 10am-6:30pm w/ Call Rotation

Elm Crest Senior Living is now hiring for a Full-Time Registered Nurse. This position will train as the Health Unit Coordinator and be required to work 10am-6:30pm Monday thru Friday w/ Rotating Call Schedule as needed. While this position is a backup to our current Health Unit Coordinator they may also serve in assisting the physicians when rounding, which may include resident primary care physicians, podiatrists, wound care and other duties as assigned.
Position would also assume Floor Registered Nurse role as needed due to call-off's, vacation or low census.

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the provision and monitoring of high quality clinical care and services to residents consistent with regulations and established clinical best practices. Supervises the day-to-day nursing activities performed by licensed nurses, CMA's, and CNA's. Encourages each resident's ability to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being, through Community programs and procedures in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, ABHM mission and core values.
Education and Experience:
Registered nurse with current, unencumbered, active licensure with the State Board of Nursing in Iowa.
3 or more years of prior nursing experience in long-term care preferred.
Prior successful supervisory experience preferred.
Associates Degree in Nursing Required (BSN preferred)
Skills and Abilities Required:
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
Critical thinking skills necessary to properly assess situations and make independent decisions as circumstances warrant.
Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and collaborative team concept.
Familiarity with computer systems, with a demonstrated ability to use computer programs for training, documentation and communications.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
Demonstrate a positive attitude, self-awareness and emotional maturity necessary to manage behaviors in a manner that promotes healthy, respectful and supportive communications.
Must be able to accurately relate and document information concerning a resident's condition.
Critical thinking skills, including the ability to synthesize information and make role-appropriate decisions.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace.
Ability to effectively cope with the mental and emotional stress of a fast-paced environment prone to frequent interruptions and potentially emotional residents and/or family members.
Willingness and ability to work outside normal working hours, and on any unit, as necessary.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
